The Longbranch Inn in Austin, TX, was opened on 11th Street in 1935, almost 80 years ago and It's been supplying Austinites with good drink and hospitality since then.
It ran into some problems and was a bit run down at a couple points, but luckily it found owners who care about our historic bars, like Kevin Crutchfield, who restored her to her glory days.
Now she serves her neighborhood just like she used to, pouring strong drinks and showing locals a good time. Definitely hit this place if you're in the area and looking for a quiet place for a strong drink.
If you go you may see an occasional celebrity, like Jack White of the White Stripes who play pool there whenever he's in town. Otherwise this place is a great bar to just hang out and soak in some Austin history.
